Hi everyone! It’s me again! Checking in for the last time before the long summer nap. I think it’s called “estivation”.
Things you need to know for the summer are as follows:
Hah! See?! You’ve been laughing at me all these years but when I say “think snow”, it really does work! Three weeks ago we were almost ready to call it a season. Hills were getting thin and patches were appearing. And then 16 inches of new snow dropped on our heads and we were back in business for another month at least! A cruise around the Moose Highway on Wednesday found excellent spring skiing and the Dog is reported as excellent as well. OK, the Beaver is melting but skiing is still amazing!
And we’re finishing the year with 421 members! Which is a record. Well done us!
March 3 was an epic day: clear sunny skies, fresh grooming, and hot soup!
THANK YOU: (and please click on the "read more" to finish the thank yous and to see some photos)
--Darryl at Sherwood Mountain Brewery, for spearheading this event, and for the promotions, advertising, selling tickets, and organizing restaurants from Terrace and Kitimat to donate soup, and for providing such awesome draw prizes
--Rob (Geier Waste Services) and Bob (Source for Sports), for the grand prize of a ski package, won by a skier visiting from Burns Lake!
--Restaurants who donated delicious soup: Thornhill Pub, Mumford's, Northern Dhaba, Rosario's, Donna's Kitchen, Norm's Bistro, PF Bistro, Rosswood General Store, and Sherwood Mountain
--J&F Distributors, for the wiener roast supplies
Congratulations to all 89 skiers who registered for the Moose Marathon on Saturday! The sun was shining, the trails were in beautiful shape (thanks to the groomers who were packing and setting trails in the wee hours of the morning), the soups were delicious--it was an epic event. McBike & Sport in Smithers provided a bunch of draw prizes--thank you to Peter for that bonus parcel!
Our annual Moose Marathon is around the corner!
