The soup is hot and waiting for you out at Onion Lake Ski Trails!  Don't forget to bring your own mug and spoon!
The event:  Sherwood Tour de Soup 2019
The what:  Skiers ski to soup stations on the trails to enjoy soup donated from 8 restaurants in Terrace and Kitimat.  Optional pTour de Soup FB 2oker ski--you will get cards from the various soup stations to try to get the best poker hand.  Wiener roast after your ski, by the lodge.
The why:  a fundraiser for the new rental shed
The who:  anyone, all ages
The when:  Sunday, March 3.  Soup will be ready at 11 a.m., but will be available until 1:30.  It's not a race, so stagger your arrivals.  All draws and prizes will be done just after 2:00 p.m.
The cost:  $10 per ticket, available at Sherwood Mountain Brewhouse this week, and then available on Sunday at the trails.  For non-members, who will still need to purchase a day pass, we've dropped the adult day fee rate to $10.
Bonus:  Great draw prizes for all in attendance (including a ski package from Geier Waste Services and All Seasons Source for Sports), and prizes for the best three poker hands for adults and the best three poker hands for juniors (19 and under).
And to make it all happen, we need people and other things:
People to volunteer:
--Two shifts at the soup stations (9:45 a.m. to 12 noon, and 12 noon to 2 p.m.)
--Two shifts at the registration table  (10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and 12 - 2 p.m.)
--And kitchen help (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)  serving free hot chocolate and coffee, organizing the goodies
--one person to start and tend the fire for the wiener roast
And a few things:
--Goodies:  Please bring or send snacks or sweets to have in the lodge to share with all
--Big pots:  anyone out there with really big soup/stock pots we can borrow?
--Propane stoves:  we need four more propane burner units--the ones people use for cooking or canning outdoors--and the propane tanks that go with them.  If you have a unit we can borrow, we will arrange for pick up and return.
If you can volunteer in the above positions, or would like to help with the set up of the soup stations in the morning before it all starts, please let me know by email or phone (include your preferred shift for the soup stations and registration table).  And if you have the propane stoves or big pots you can lend to us, give me a shout!
Thanks, everyone!  See you on Sunday!
