Hi, Skiers!   Three great reasons to sign up for Early Bird memberships!!

Registration for this year's cross country season is open! You can sign up online or you can print off the registration form and send it in with payment to our mailing address (link here). Our Early Bird rates will be in effect until Dec. 1st, 2016, and as in previous years, the club gives 2 free day passes to every household that submits paperwork and payment prior to or on Dec. 1st. This is the first bonus to Early Bird registration.

The second bonus is a new initiative. The club will be holding two draws, one on Nov. 11 and the second draw on Dec. 2, for all Early Bird registrants. This means two chances to win one free adult membership for the 2017-2018 ski season! We have a few extra prizes that will be announced for each draw, and this is an invitation for members and businesses to add to the prize cache for the Early Bird draw winners. (Please let Dan or me know if you have something to contribute to these two draws.)

The third bonus is a challenge from Cross Country BC, our provincial nordic skiing organization. CCBC is collecting some amazing prizes to give away to ski clubs around the province: Fischer/Swix gear, Salomon skis, free accomodation in South Chilcotin Mountains cabins and Silver Star Mountain Resort, a fleet of kids' gear and classic ski packages from Rossignol, Vauhti roller skis and waxes, Bliz Active Eyewear, Halti gear, and more.  Read about it here.

To win, a club has to have the highest percentage of members registered, as of midnight Dec 1 2016, as compared to its previous winter’s total membership.   For example, a club with 200 members last year and 140 members by Dec 1 would be at 70%, and a club with 160 members last year and 120 members by Dec 1 would be at 75%.

To make things fair as well as have more winners, clubs have been divided into 6 groups and a winner will be selected from each group, for a total of 6 winners.  The prizes will be randomly distributed amongst the winners. Snow Valley Nordic Ski Club is in Group C (201-500 members), with 331 members last year. The more early registrants we get, the more chances we have of the club winning some terrific prizes that would benefit the club!

So, there are these three great reasons to sign up early for ski club membership. As well, there are the usual other benefits, like staying active in the winter and meeting incredible people on the trails and in the varied activities out at Onion Lake this winter!

Looking forward to hearing from all of you soon!
