I am pleased to say that the Moose Marathon Race at the Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails will be held this Saturday March 4th!  (Registration and other details below.)

And the very popular Women’s Fest will be happening this Sunday March 5th!  (Again, details below, keep reading!)

Thanks to the hard work of our Groomers;  they have been able to keep some trails open, the Dog Run, most of the Moose Highway, Snowbound, Rainbow and parts of the Stadium, Beaver and Rabbit trails. Now with the new snow and more snow expected they will be able to get more of the trails fully open again soon.

All for now, see you on the Trails

Moose Marathon:

Saturday, March 4th

Registration table is open at 9:00 a.m
Distances:  1.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, or 30 km.
People skiing the 30 km will have a mass start at 10:00 a.m.  Everyone else starts at 11:00 a.m.

Registration fee:  $5 per person.  However, it's CRAZY HAT day, and anyone wearing a crazy hat gets their registration fee waived!

All JackRabbits kids are automatically registered.  They need to work on getting their siblings and parents to join them!

This is a fun event.  You can ski hard and challenge yourself, or you can ski leisurely with your friends.  Everyone who crosses the finish line gets a chocolate bar.

And a special invitation to all ski club members and other skiers:  join us for this annual event, bring a friend, come enjoy the trails and the people that energize the club!

The Snowflake Cafe will be open, racers get a free soup-and-bun lunch, non-racers can purchase soup and a bun for $3.

Travis might need volunteers, but not many.  If you can help with registrations, bib pick up, or manning the snack tables on the Moose Highway, let him know!   (Contact Travis here.)

Women's Ski Fest:

Sunday, March 5th

This is the moment for our annual ski fest, after postponing it in January!  For women of all ages, all skiing abilities, and for either classic or skate technique.  Here is the registration form and it includes all the ways to get it to Cathy before Sunday morning! Please indicate if you will need rental gear.

The ski fest starts at 9:00 a.m. with coffee and registration, and we're on the snow at 9:30.

Register soon and get your friends on board, too!  It's a great day for lessons, good food, lots of laughs, prizes, free passes, etc.
