Today, our membership passed 400 members!  What a great group of folks who love the trails and winter sports!!

Dave Clunas got the 400th membership spot;  he'll be getting a few day passes to commemorate this record-breaking moment.

Dean and his crew found homes for the trolls that were made by the JackRabbit kids a few weeks ago.  Have to ski the Troll Trail to see them and count them!!  (Click on the "read more" for more photos)

Thank you to Creative Zone (Cathy and her staff there) for helping us build these creatures!

Hi everyone.  As the snow creeps down the slopes of the surrounding mountains, and we wake up to flecks of white stuff in the air....
First, an update about hoodies and touques.  The head coach of the cross country ski club in Smithers, Lisa Perry, has organized the availability of hoodies and hats, with a "ski north" logo.  This logo was designed by Ben Carter from Terrace, with some friends, at the dryland camp in Smithers this fall.  (See poster here.)  Snow Valley Club members can now purchase hoodies with "Snow Valley Nordic Ski Club" embroidered on the front.  The hoodies come in a wide range of colors for both adults and youth.  Online shop is here.
The Snow Valley hoodies are at the bottom of the page.  Deadline for ordering is Nov. 15, and the order should be brought back with the crew returning from Snow Camp on Dec. 2.

These are the draft in-the-works copies of our bylaws and policy manual.  They will be discussed and voted on at our AGM on Oct. 23 (7:30 p.m. in the lodge at Onion Lake).  If any members want to read through the documents, and give the executive your comments to improve the documents, please do!  Email Liz here.

Policy Manual

Hey ski friends!  The ski season starts NOW!!  Memberships are now available (online here or printable form here).  Please don't disregard the volunteer requests--there is lots of work that goes into running and maintaining all that we have out at Onion Lake!

And the first volunteer opportunity is a WORK PARTY on Oct. 6.  Meet at the lodge at 10:00 a.m.  We have wood to cut and split for the winter, and some carpentry tasks, and trail work.  More details will follow, but mark your calendars now!

And later in October, on Tuesday, October 23, we'll hold our Annual General Meeting.  This is an excellent opportunity to hear from the executive and other directors and coordinators what the club has been doing this past year, and to be part of our plans for the upcoming season.  We will hold elections and would welcome new board members as directors-at-large.  And we will eat dessert.  That's the best tradition at an AGM!
