These are the draft in-the-works copies of our bylaws and policy manual.  They will be discussed and voted on at our AGM on Oct. 23 (7:30 p.m. in the lodge at Onion Lake).  If any members want to read through the documents, and give the executive your comments to improve the documents, please do!  Email Liz here.

Hey ski friends!  The ski season starts NOW!!  Memberships are now available (online here or printable form here).  Please don't disregard the volunteer requests--there is lots of work that goes into running and maintaining all that we have out at Onion Lake!

And the first volunteer opportunity is a WORK PARTY on Oct. 6.  Meet at the lodge at 10:00 a.m.  We have wood to cut and split for the winter, and some carpentry tasks, and trail work.  More details will follow, but mark your calendars now!

And later in October, on Tuesday, October 23, we'll hold our Annual General Meeting.  This is an excellent opportunity to hear from the executive and other directors and coordinators what the club has been doing this past year, and to be part of our plans for the upcoming season.  We will hold elections and would welcome new board members as directors-at-large.  And we will eat dessert.  That's the best tradition at an AGM!

2nd place, the owl, goes to Terry Garon of Prince Rupert

3rd place, the moose antler, goes to Rod Onstein of Terrace

Thank you to JJ's WoodArt for the beautiful carvings, and thanks also go to Dean and Sue who put in hours and hours of work into organizing and administrating the raffle, and to Juliana White who painted the display trailer used to cart the carvings around.

And the early March challenge to use up your early bird passes was finally drawn today, and the winner of the SportChek gift card is Susan Goulin-Rodger from Terrace.  Thank you SportChek for donating the prize for this draw!

It was a memorable day.  The final day of the JackRabbits season, so there were games and activities all over the place.  Then, Beckie Scott, Canadian Olympic Nordic skier, showed up.  She hung out with the various groups, and then talked to the group of adults and kids, answered questions, presented the coaches with "Snow Valley Nordics resized DSC 0044Coach" toques, posed for photos with various families, signed skis, and ate supper.  The ski conditions were great, the potluck supper supported a huge variety of delicious entres and desserts.  You'll have to press the "read more" to see more photos.
