Snowshoeing out at the ski trails

PDF Print E-mail

Attention, snowshoe athletes:

We are discussing building snowshoe trails out at Onion Lake Ski Trails, but it's a long way off, as we've only entered the discussion phase (and we'd sure encourage anyone to help us develop and implement a snowshoe route!).  Until we have those trails, traipsing around the trails on snowshoes is allowed, but please stay off the set parallel tracks (for classic skiing) and the inside smooth surface (set for skate skiers).  Both categories of skiers have a hard time navigating trails that have been chewed up by snowshoes.  So stay on the outside edges of the groomed trails, and of course, you are welcome to snowshoe through the trees and away from the tracks.  Anyone on snowshoes in the ski area needs to buy and wear a pass, too.  Skiers, please kindly educate the snowshoers who aren't aware of the above.
