Congratulations to all 89 skiers who registered for the Moose Marathon on Saturday! The sun was shining, the trails were in beautiful shape (thanks to the groomers who were packing and setting trails in the wee hours of the morning), the soups were delicious--it was an epic event. McBike & Sport in Smithers provided a bunch of draw prizes--thank you to Peter for that bonus parcel!
Our annual Moose Marathon is around the corner!
Mass start, free technique.
Distances: 1.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, and 30 km
Register (name and race distance) by emailing Travis, or register in the lodge on race day before 10 a.m. All JackRabbits kids are automatically registered, but Travis needs to know the distance they are skiing. All other participants: race fee is $10, includes registration, chocolate bar at the finish line, and soup & bun for lunch. Race fee is payable (cash or cheque only) in the lodge prior to race.
For further details, refer to race notice here.
Our annual classic interval start race is this Saturday! Race Notice is here. All JackRabbits kids are registered, all others interested in joining the fun need to register online on Zone4: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?
Please note the different age categories, AND there is a "recreational" category for those of us 20 and over who really really really don't want to race on Devil's Elbow!
Peter Krause from McBike & Sport (Smithers) will also be on site if anyone wants to talk to him about ski gear or try out what he has to offer in both classic and skate ski boots and skis. (Click on the image on the right for a larger poster.)
Hi folks, snow is on the ground, soggy as it may be but still good for skiing :) The Snow Valley Open (our annual classic ski race) is soon upon us in two weekends…Saturday the 26th. So if you would like to help out in some capacity I would love to have you. Event start will be at 11, registration will open up about 9:30 and should be all wrapped up by 1.
So will be looking for registration helpers, start line and finish line crew, a few course controllers, bib recovery team and choco bar hand-er-outers, and of course food and folks for the Snowflake Cafe.
So if you feel you can be of assistance in any capacity please let me know! email me and I will find a job for you :)
Cheers, and chat soon.
Travis Carter, Chief of Race
