UPDATE: Women's Ski Fest is FULL.
As of Feb. 1st, we can no longer take registrations.
We're ON! The Annual Ski Clinic for women is in the works!
We have limited spaces available; please check the form for details for registration.
Contact Cathy if you have questions or would like attend!
Our annual classic interval start race is this Saturday! Race Notice is here. All JackRabbits kids are registered, all others interested in joining the fun need to register online on Zone4: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?
Please note the different age categories, AND there is a "recreational" category for those of us 20 and over who really really really don't want to race on Devil's Elbow!
Peter Krause from McBike & Sport (Smithers) will also be on site if anyone wants to talk to him about ski gear or try out what he has to offer in both classic and skate ski boots and skis. (Click on the image on the right for a larger poster.)
Happy New Year, skiers! We’ve finally got the snow we’ve all been dreaming of so let’s all get out and enjoy it!
First off: We have a record 412 members! Welcome to all the newcomers! It’s wonderful to see so many new faces on the trails. Feel free to come into the lodge – make yourself some hot chocolate or tea and enjoy the fire. (Light one if it’s not already burning). The water key is kept in the drawer to the left of the stove. Lock the tap when you are leaving the lodge.
If you are a new skier: Think about coming out for a lesson on Saturday mornings, 10:30 a.m. (only on the following dates: Jan. 19; Feb. 2, 9, 16; and March 2, 9). These lessons are free for members, $10 for non-members.
Hi folks, snow is on the ground, soggy as it may be but still good for skiing :) The Snow Valley Open (our annual classic ski race) is soon upon us in two weekends…Saturday the 26th. So if you would like to help out in some capacity I would love to have you. Event start will be at 11, registration will open up about 9:30 and should be all wrapped up by 1.
So will be looking for registration helpers, start line and finish line crew, a few course controllers, bib recovery team and choco bar hand-er-outers, and of course food and folks for the Snowflake Cafe.
So if you feel you can be of assistance in any capacity please let me know! email me and I will find a job for you :)
Cheers, and chat soon.
Travis Carter, Chief of Race
Today, our membership passed 400 members! What a great group of folks who love the trails and winter sports!!
Dave Clunas got the 400th membership spot; he'll be getting a few day passes to commemorate this record-breaking moment.
Dean and his crew found homes for the trolls that were made by the JackRabbit kids a few weeks ago. Have to ski the Troll Trail to see them and count them!! (Click on the "read more" for more photos)
Thank you to Creative Zone (Cathy and her staff there) for helping us build these creatures!
