I am pleased to say that the Moose Marathon Race at the Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails will be held this Saturday March 4th! (Registration and other details below.)
And the very popular Women’s Fest will be happening this Sunday March 5th! (Again, details below, keep reading!)
Thanks to the hard work of our Groomers; they have been able to keep some trails open, the Dog Run, most of the Moose Highway, Snowbound, Rainbow and parts of the Stadium, Beaver and Rabbit trails. Now with the new snow and more snow expected they will be able to get more of the trails fully open again soon.
(Message from Travis)
Hi, everyone: Very sad conditions at the trails. All most tragic. The stadium is completely ice, literally you could use metal bladed skates in the stadium. There is snow on the trails but it is cement. You could not put a mark in it with a ski if you tried. So...there will be no formal lessons for rabbits tomorrow. No safe skiing could occur.
Hi Everyone! Just a quick update so everyone is in the loop! The skiing is great! And it’s all thanks to groomers Jim, Erich and Anthony! Jim and Erich took the Ginzu around the stadium trails, Jack Rabbit and the Snowbound circuit many, many times and they’re all now in excellent shape. The Moose is likewise in good shape as far as the Kitlope crossing.
The recent rain has forced us into the difficult position of postponing the women's ski fest, scheduled for tomorrow. We will find an alternate weekend to hold the ski fest, once conditions improve. Meanwhile, am attaching some photos from this morning's Rabbits program. These kids are tough little skiers! Cathy V. Click the "read more" to see the photos!

Happy New Year everyone! My wish for you is that everyone had a good Christmas and that 2017 provides at least a few of the things you’re hoping it does! One of my hopes certainly came true. We’ve had the best ski conditions since Christmas that I can remember! Thanks to the groomers for giving us awesome trails to ski on!
If you are female, and if you would like to improve your skiing skills (or learn new skills and techniques), please join us on January 29th for our one-day ski clinic! For women of all ages and all skiing abilities, the ski fest will boost your skiing skills and enthusiasm for this great winter sport. We meet in the lodge at 9:00 for coffee and warm up exercises, and will be on the snow by 9:30. Questions: call Cathy at 635-7397. Registration form is here. And is you want to put a poster up in your workplace or gym, you can download it here.
